CAUTION WARNING CAVEAT CUIDADO
Do you service native Spanish speakers?
Yes, absolutely! Be sure to contact us and we’ll provide you with our program for servicing the Spanish speaking community. We are preparing a bi-lingual, side by side Spanish/English version of The Constitution. Let’s not exacerbate our anxieties by a false notion that not having English as our native tongue, somehow precludes our mastery of what The Founding Fathers gave to all of us. To put it simply, it is not a problem. All of our countrymen suffer from what I term Constitutional Anxiety. So, the person whose native tongue is Spanish is wrong to let it keep him from conquering the Constitution. I like to remind folks that 200 years before our Constitution, Spaniards were writing about the entitlement of human rights and individual freedom of the indigenous peoples of the Americas. On this site you will learn where to find that material.
Are you supported, or subsidized, by some organization or political party?
No. We are not supported in any way by any organization, except for those we serve. We are not part of any political party. The generosity of those we service helps to sustain our efforts.
Is there an opportunity to ask questions at the seminars?
Yes, of course. We are interested in the Q & A dynamic. It makes for a more lively experience. The only caveat is the time constraint. We have a great deal to cover. So, the Q & A is, generally, a brief wrap up period. Questions, in fact, help us to improve the next session. Some of the questions are real puzzlers.
Will you be selling books or tapes or other material?
No we do not sell anything, and we do not intend to start. Our sole purpose is information exchange – not marketing.
However, many people are interested in, or feel comforted by textual material. Therefore, we are pursuing that aspect. The drawback is that it adds to the cost of the event. And what we are trying to do is inform, at the lowest cost to attendees and host organizations. Of course, fund raising is an integral component of the effort and we realize, and cooperate in that task.
Do you provide those little pocket copies of the Constitution?
Yes. We can, if asked by the Host Organization. Again it is a matter of cost. We are hoping to be able to provide them as complimentary copies.
Do you have additional “Sampler” pages, I find that they’re a great way to experience the back and forth of the debates?
Not at the moment. That is part of our plan for the future. Right now, there what lawyers might refer to as “work product”. They are my crib sheets or seminar notes. I like them, too.
Where do you get that 10 pound book you carry around?
The GPO (Government Printing Office) – They cost almost $300 bucks, but they make a great dramatic thud when dropped on the table. It got your attention – didn’t it?
Is there a minimum, or maximum set for attendees?
No. Large or small groups are equally treated. It is a matter for the host organization to provide a suitable venue and set the number of attendees. We work closely with the host to ensure the best possible delivery of information, in a comfortable and relaxed environment conducive to the learning process and, yet, enjoyable. It can be quite a fun time – believe it or not!
